Points: 200
Due Date: Last Day of Class
About: For this independent Calligraphy hand project, you will choose a Script from your textbook that you wish to learn and practice the minuscules and Majuscules until you are confident enough to begin writing sentencing with your script.
Rubric:
1. Ladder usage and lining up practice papers. I'm looking for your ability to read the ladder chart for your script and, by using the methods we learned in class, properly line up EACH of your practice sheets. (8.5x11 paper is just fine)
2. I'm mostly focused on your practice sheets and the process by which you learn your script. You'll be turning in all of your practice sheets for your final grade. I'm looking for proper letter formation and seeing how you work through problematic letters.
3. Do not rush this assignment. You have from today until the last day of the semester to complete this. So set aside a certain amount of time each day (20 minutes perhaps) to sit down and practice your lettering. Learning Calligraphy is more about the NUMBER of times you practice. Pick a set time of the day to devote to this project. This is NOT, I repeat, NOT a project that you can put off until the last week of the semester. So get started on it now.
4. Date your practice pages and keep them in your binder in sequential order for my review.
5. On your last page, I want you to select a pangram and write it out on 8.5 x 11 paper, that I will provide.
